Designed for the next generation of drivetrains, electrification solutions, and domain-oriented vehicle platforms, Stellar P automotive MCUs deliver a new level of real-time control performance, functional safety, and timing determinism for motion-control applications. The Stellar P series continues to scale and evolve with higher performance, thanks to a 20% increase in core frequency and a more optimized system architecture with faster memory access.

By consolidating multiple functions into a single MCU with a high number of I/Os and advanced analog integration, Stellar P helps reduce the number of separate control units and the associated wiring harnesses. This saves space, lowers system cost, and simplifies architectures, which are critical advantages in the compact, thermally constrained, and increasingly complex environments of hybrid and electric vehicles.

The Stellar P family offers extensive scalability in on-chip memory (including the xMemory option), flexible multi-core configurations, and high-performance ADC subsystems. This enables ECU designers to address the growing trend toward X in 1 integration (e.g. combining traction inverter, OBC, DC DC, and other functions) using a consistent, future-proof MCU platform.

Stellar P with integrated NPU for advanced AI use cases
To meet the growing demand for AI-powered features, Stellar P now integrates a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), enabling advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) use cases such as predictive maintenance and precise motor-control algorithms for smoother operation. Interfaces have been upgraded to deliver more efficient outputs and faster response times, a key requirement for electrification applications. At the same time, overall efficiency has been improved with new low-power modes, increasing performance per watt and supporting more energy-conscious designs.

Applications

Stellar P microcontrollers provide high real-time and deterministic processing capabilities with minimal power consumption. They integrate multiple Arm® Cortex®-R52 cores, which deliver advanced isolation through hardware-based mechanisms and virtualization to maintain data integrity for safety-critical workloads. The cores can operate in lockstep or split-lock mode to address various application requirements for safety levels and processing performance.
