QSPI Serial NOR Flash

• QSPI Serial NOR Flash portfolio family ranges from 1 Mbit to 2 Gbit size
• Serial NOR Flash generally connects to the host through 1x, 2x, 4x I/O interface and may also support Double-Transfer Rate (DTR) for the highest performance. OctaFlash^TM extends to eight I/Os the serial Flash Interface for offering the highest Read performances
• Macronix Serial NOR Flash is based on floating-gate technology for the best reliability
• Serial NOR is available with Standard Industrial grade (temperature -40 to +85°C) but also with Extended temperature range up to 125°C
• Macronix Serial NOR Flash products are also offered AECQ-100 Automotive Grade qualified

Macronix Serial NOR offering consists of:

• MX25L / MX66L¹ 3 V products
• MX25U / MX66U¹ 1.8 V products
• MX25R 1.65 V-3.6 V Wide-Vcc range. Specifically designed for Ultra-Low Power
• MX25S 1.2 V products. Ready for interfacing with the next wave of SoCs

Note: ¹  “66” indicates that the product is made up of multiple die (for example, 1 Gb and 2 Gb)

OctaFlash^TM

• OctaFlash^TM is an 8-I/Os ultra-high read performance NVM. OctaFlash^TM is based on reliable NOR technology and is operating up to 500 MB/s (250 MHz)
• OctaBus^TM is the generic interface name that comprehends also OctaRAM^TM PSRAM products, which are produced by our partners. OctaBus^TM is compatible with xSPI JEDEC JESD251 Standard
• OctaFlash^TM highest read throughput and low latency are excellent for high performance code execution, fastest code boot and to implement rich and smooth advanced graphics HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces)
• OctaFlash^TM is also offered with multiple bank architecture which, provides simultaneous Read-While-Write efficient code execution in place (XIP) while data writing to the Flash, E²-Emulation, and Over-The-Air updates (OTA)

OctaFlash^TM offering is composed of:

• MX25UM / MX66UM¹ (1.8 V) offered with capacity from 64 Mb to 2 Gb
• MX25LM / MX66LM¹ (3.3 V) offered with capacity from 256 Mb to 2 Gb
• MX25UW / MX66UW¹ / MX25LW / MX66LW¹ are the corresponding products with multi-bank architecture
• OctaFlash^TM products are also offered qualified Automotive Grade AECQ-100 up to 125°C and received Safety ISO 26262 ASIL D Ready certification

Serial NAND Flash

• MX35 Serial NAND Flash family is a cost effective storage solution for 1 Gb to 8 Gb density. Serial NAND that can be connected to the host Quad-SPI interface and operates up to 104 MHz
• Macronix Serial NAND are internally produced and based on advanced SLC NAND technology node that can guarantee product longevity
• MX35 Serial NAND has been designed to minimize as much as possible the differences with Serial NOR Flash. For example:
  • Serial NAND products have an internal ECC controller to manage the underlying NAND media errors
  • A Bad Block address remap feature is also provider to make easier the handling of Bad Blocks that are inherent to the underlying NAND technology. The devices are therefore delivered with zero Bad Blocks
  • Data can be read continuously through the entire memory with one single command (no page boundary)
• MX35 is available in 3 V and 1.8 V versions and in a small 6x8mm WSON package
• MX35 Serial NAND is also available for Automotive AECQ-100 Grade-2 applications

SLC NAND Flash

• MX30 SLC NAND products are available in 1.8 V and 3 V versions and with capacity from 1 Gb to 8 Gb
• SLC NAND products, also known as “Parallel NAND”, must be connected to the legacy parallel asynchronous memory interface when available
• MX30 Serial NAND is produced in Macronix’s factories and offered with long term availability
• MX30 is also available for Automotive AECQ-100 Grade-2 applications

eMMC^TM

• MX52 eMMC is internally developed, integrating the internally produced NAND to offer the product longevity
• MX52 eMMC^TM offering starts on the low density range 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB
• The operating voltage is 2.7 V-3.6 V and the I/Os are dual range, 2.7 V-3.6 V and 1.7/1.95 V
• Macronix eMMC^TM support version 5.1 JEDEC specification HS200 and HS400 modes and several advanced features eMMC™ 5.1 Standard
• MX52 eMMC^TM is suitable for STM32 MCUs and MPUs

ArmorFlash^TM

• ArmorFlash^TM is a Secure Non-Volatile Memory family of products with standard QSPI/OctaFlash interface
• ArmorFlash aims to address the security challenges of modern application by providing several features, which are summarized below:
  • Authenticated Commands supported by hardware crypto engines
  • Several separated protected Areas
  • Replay Protected Non-Volatile Monotonic Counters
  • True Random Number Generator (TRNG)
  • Physical Unclonable Function (PUF)
  • Data Encryption
• ArmorFlash can be used for:
  • Storing sensitive information (for example, for multi-tenant Apps support)
  • Verify authenticity of device and of the code / data
  • Manage updates using functions such as Protected Monotonic Counters and TRNG
