Smart power distribution

In E/E architectures, the powernet supplying the energy from the sources to the loads faces many challenges. Usually, two batteries at different voltage levels provide energy to loads distributed across the car. To meet reliability and powernet stability requirements, high safety standards, up to ISO 26262 ASIL D, must be supported.
With rising power demand and increasingly strict efficiency targets, new energy‑management concepts must minimize both power losses in operation and standby current in parking mode.
ST’s latest smart power distribution architectures, combining STi²Fuse smart switches with Stellar 32‑bit automotive MCUs, enable safe and flexible power networks that reduce wire‑harness weight, length, and cost, while improving electric‑vehicle performance and driving range.
