The embeNET networking platform enables low-cost, wireless connection of a large number of devices to the Internet. It has features that distinguish it from other communication standards. It was designed primarily to meet the requirements of large-scale and cost-sensitive applications. At the same time, it is technically prepared for operation in harsh environmental conditions where other radio systems tend not to work. Due to a modern link resource access technique called TSCH (Time-Slotted Channel Hopping) with the IPv6 layer and tailored routing protocol, the end-devices can safely communicate even under varying radio propagation conditions. Our solution often replaces conventional wires, so the product installation cost can be significantly lower. The network automatically forms multi-hop and self-healing topologies while maintaining high overall quality of service.
The embeNET communication platform consists of three elements:
- Network stack – an embedded firmware library with C language interface to be integrated with the target application for end devices
- Router software - a software package that can be installed on any Linux or Windows device, making it act as an edge router that connects wireless devices to the Internet or intranet infrastructure
- Cloud software - a user-friendly website providing additional services such as remote network administration, visualization of all network connections, remote diagnostics and automated, large-scale software update
