概要
L6981は、使いやすい同期整流式モノリシック･ステップダウン･コンバータで、最大1.5AのDC電流を負荷に供給できます。入力電圧範囲が広く、幅広いアプリケーションに適した製品です。また、ピーク電流モード･アーキテクチャに基づき、内部補正を備えたSO8パッケージで提供されるため、設計の簡略化と小型化に貢献します。
L6981には、低消費電力モード（LCM）とロー･ノイズモード（LNM）の2つのバージョンが用意されています。LCMは、出力電圧のリップルを制御することにより、低負荷で最大限の効率を発揮するため、バッテリ駆動アプリケーションに適しています。LNMは、スイッチング周波数を一定に維持することで、低負荷動作時の出力電圧リップルを最小限に抑えているため、ノイズに影響を受けやすいアプリケーションに適しています。
ENピンでイネーブルとディスエーブルを切り替えることができます。ディスエーブル時のシャットダウン電流は2µA（Typ.値）です。ENピンをプルアップするとデバイスがただちにイネーブルになり、1.3msの内部ソフトスタートが実行されます。どちらの電源要素でもパルス単位で電流をセンシングすることで効果的な定電流保護を実現し、サーマル･シャットダウンで温度上昇による損傷を防止しています。
