48V to 12V DC/DC converter

In mild hybrid electric vehicles, the DC/DC converter is a mandatory part of the overall system. It is typically used in buck mode to supply electrical energy to the 12V system, which has been created by the 48V starter generator. In some cases, such as starting the vehicle and autonomous driving functions, it can also be used in boost mode. In this last configuration it becomes bidirectional converter.

Products and solutions

Stellar 32-bit automotive MCUs

The Stellar platform consists of multiple series of automotive microcontrollers built around a versatile Arm®-based architecture. The Stellar P and Stellar G series are designed to support real-time virtualization of multi-ASIL ECUs while the Stellar E series addresses the needs for electrification.

All series boast an extensive array of I/Os and peripherals, making them suitable for modern car ECU solutions. The Stellar P & G product lines include xMemory, build on ST PCM technology, providing over twice the memory density compared to other eNVM technologies. Stellar with xMemory offers more headroom for current and future application needs.

Automotive STripFET F8

The advanced STripFET F8 technology ensures lowers output capacitance, which helps reduce voltage spikes across the drain source and decrease energy losses during charge-discharge cycles. This new low-voltage MOSFET series features an enhanced body-drain diode that improves softness during switching to further reduce electromagnetic interference. These performance improvements help designers meet EMC requirements and simplify compliance verification processes associated with various low-voltage automotive applications.
