Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a widely adopted technology used to supply power to the powered device (PD) over an RJ-45 cable also carrying data. Described in the IEEE 802.3 standard and its enhancements including IEEE 802.3bt, IEEE 802.3at and IEEE 802.3af, this technology is becoming attractive for LED lighting.
