Industrial IoT is evolving in terms of Condition-based monitoring (CbM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) capabilities surrounding plant and equipment maintenance, as well as cost and efficiency optimization.
This paper presents LoRaWAN technology and architecture, together with a complementary IoT node design, to support effective CbM in remote, and large-scale Industrial IoT scenarios.
It is a viable solution thanks to the combination of high technology, with the latest low-power STM32 MCU hardware, and software design ingenuity, with clever data packet optimization based on the LoRa wireless communication protocol.
