Single-phase electricity meters are designed essentially to measure energy consumption and its quality factor as well as provide means to prevent tampering. Today’s smart meters can connect to a wide-area network (WAN) and the cloud through a data concentrator and a home area network together with in-home devices in addition to gas and water meters. This enables the automatic metering infrastructure (AMI) that helps utilities better manage customer services and encourage consumers to embrace energy-savvy behavior to optimize their costs.

We offer a broad range of energy metering ICs, high-performance STM32 microcontrollers, secure elements and high-efficiency AC-DC converters as well as field-proven, programmable power-line communication (PLC) solutions to support a variety of specifically developed standards – including G3-PLC, PRIME and Meters-and-More – and sub-GHz wireless connectivity solutions supporting wM-Bus, LoRa and Sigfox low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) protocols.
