The teaching pendant runs a graphical interface on a touchscreen for programming, jogging, and monitoring the arm, along with the safety controls: the enabling switch and emergency stop. The application processor, the display and touch electronics, secure authentication, and the interface protection are located behind the screen.
Functionalities and devices
- Interface and pendant logic: the graphical UI, jogging and program handling, on an STM32MP or STM32H7/U5 processor
- Display drive: LCD backlight and LED control, through LED array drivers and boost LED regulators
- Touch input: capacitive touchscreen sensing, through a touchscreen controller
- Interface protection: ESD and filtering on the display and data lines, with HDMI and data-line ESD and common-mode filters
- Security and memory: authentication with an STSAFE secure element, and settings held in serial EEPROM
- Safety controls: the enabling switch and emergency stop, tied to the arm's safety function
