Companion docking station

A companion robot is charged from a dock station or wireless pad. It combines wireless charging, wired power, control, and battery-management functions.

Wireless connectivity

  • Links the dock with the companion robot and supports contactless charging, with protection circuitry.
  • A central STM32G4 control unit coordinates the system, communicating with the wireless, signal-conditioning, power-management, and PFC sections.

Signal conditioning

  • Monitors current and uses operational-amplifier and comparator circuits to prepare and check signals.

Power management

  • Handles DC/DC conversion, regulation, LDOs, voltage and fuse protection, and power monitoring. The dock can also receive power from a wired charger.

PFC controllers and gate drivers

  • Manage power-factor correction and switching, supporting efficient power delivery to the charging system.
