Boost Current Regulators for LED

Boost regulators provide the necessary high voltages to drive multiple LEDs in series, guaranteeing accurate LED current matching.
ST offers both single- and multi-channel high-efficiency boost LED drivers featuring a wide dimming range, low noise and small footprint. They also embed protection functions such as overvoltage and overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown and LED-array protection.

Automotive LED driver with embedded DC-DC converter controller

The ALED7709 is a 4-channel LED driver suitable for automotive backlighting and interior lightning applications like: infotainment displays, Head-Up Display (HUD), instrument lights, clusters, ambient lighting, and adjustable LED strings control.

Packaged in a QFPN 5X5 24L wettable flank, the ALED7709A is suitable for applications working in bus driven mode (BDM) controlled through I2C serial interface.

The STEVAL-LLL014V1, a four LEDs strings evaluation kit based on the LED driver configured in boost, is available to help engineers by reducing the design cycle time and assessing the ALED7709 functionalities.
