Product types

PSI5 transceivers

The L9663 is an independent, configurable two-channel PSI5 transceiver, compliant with PSI5 protocol versions 1.3 and 2.1. A PSI5 (peripheral sensor interface) transceiver for automotive sensor communication enables point-to-point or bus communication over a two-wire interface that combines data and power transmission.

Serial link bus interfaces

The L9613 and L9637 serial link bus interface devices provide bidirectional half-duplex communication in automotive diagnostic applications. They interface between a vehicle onboard microcontroller UART and an off-board system via the ISO K line, in compliance with the Diagnostic Systems ISO9141 specification.

Bidirectional bus CAN transceivers

The L9615 and L9616 bidirectional bus controller area network (CAN) transceivers enable reliable communication in vehicle electronic control units (ECU). The CAN transceiver converts the signal from the CAN controller (generally the MCU) to the physical CAN bus wiring.

Benefits

PSI5 transceivers
  • Decoding and error management in the IC, automatic sensor initialization, and support for multiple timeslots with variable payload sizes → reduced MCU workload and flexible sensor handling
  • 32-bit high-speed SPI (up to 10 MHz) or direct PSI5 interface, and input for external clock with FLL module → high-speed, low-latency, and accurate data acquisition
  • Integrated charge pump stage for preregulation → stable, ECU-side PSI5 bus supply with only an external FET
Serial link bus interfaces
  • Controlled output slope → low EMI
  • Reverse supply protected down to VS = -24V → protection against reverse battery connection
  • Wide operating supply voltage range → robustness to large battery voltage variations
Bidirectional bus CAN transceivers
  • Short-circuit protection -5 to 36 V → high robustness of the CAN bus
  • Selectable baud rates: 250 kbps or 1 Mbps → fast and flexible bus communication
  • Slope control of the signals → RFI and EMI reduction
  • Dominant time-out → fail-safe mechanisms
