Stellar G Gateway and Body

Integration MCUs: Stellar G series

Addressing the key challenges of next-generation body integration and zone-oriented vehicle architectures, the Stellar G series ensures performance, safety and power efficiency combined with wide connectivity and high security.

Featuring flexible low power modes supporting low quiescent current and an intelligent monitoring subsystem, Stellar G microcontrollers ensure the best overall power efficiency.

Stellar G Integration MCUs – SR6G7C4 and SR6G7C6 – feature accelerators for secure data routing via CAN, LIN and Ethernet networks and deliver a large set of communication interfaces including 100/1000 Mbps Ethernet – TSN, AVB, VLAN and EMC optimized SGMII – CAN-FD, LIN, as well as external memory interfaces such as Hyperbus/OctalSPI and eMMC interfaces. Download the data brief here.

Embedding a non-volatile Phase-Change Memory (PCM) of up to 20 Mbytes, Stellar G Integration MCUs deliver fast read access times, and single-bit alterability (not available in Flash memory) opening new ways for applications and software to use memories between NVM and RAM storage. Its innovative dual-image storage enables cost-effective Over-The-Air (OTA) updates with major savings in memory size thanks to ST's unique NVM/PCM implementation which offers both nominal memory size for a car's full lifetime, and at the same time doubles the memory size for shorter lifetimes needed for OTA reprogramming.  With its dual-image storage feature, 20-Mbyte Stellar G microcontrollers can store up to 2x 20 Mbytes for OTA reprogramming purposes, providing significant savings in terms of memory needs.

Stellar G MCUs deliver high real-time and deterministic processing capabilities, featuring up to six Arm® Cortex®-R52 cores — some operating in lockstep and some in split-lock mode to fulfill different application needs in terms of safety levels and processing capability.

Able to manage increasing software complexity and integration with better utilization of its hardware resources, their unique architecture and hardware-based virtualization capabilities (sandboxing) is built on Cortex®-R52 and firewalls to resources accesses, simplifying the development and integration of multiple source software on the same chip while ensuring safe isolation and performance.

In addition to its state-of-the-art safety measures implemented at all levels of the architecture for the most efficient implementation of ISO 26262 ASIL-D functions, the FD-SOI technology inherently offers a quasi-immunity to radiation and provides superior protection against system unavailability while ensuring compliance with the most stringent safety standards.

Enhanced EVITA Full security capability is enabled by a fast hardware security module extended with cryptographic engines in lockstep to support secure ASIL D functionalities and provides high-speed security cryptographic services and safe network authentication to further protect manufacturer firmware as well as end-users’ data.
