ST25 dynamic NFC tags

ST25 subbrand

The ST25D Dynamic NFC Tag family is ideal to enable intuitive device control. A simple tap is all it takes to wirelessly trigger an interaction from a smartphone or an NFC-enabled device. Suitable for both consumer and industrial applications, the ST25D Dynamic Tag family meets the latest NFC Forum standards and features three series: mainstream, application-specific, and secure.

What is an ST25 Dynamic NFC tag?

Icon of a dynamic tag

A ST25 dynamic NFC tag is a battery-free solution. Combined with an antenna, it operates by harvesting energy from the magnetic field generated by the NFC/RFID reader (such as a smartphone). It acts as a bridge to create wireless interactions between a smartphone and the system. The dynamic tag can be connected to the system either via I2C or PWM interfaces.

Useful information

WHAT IS TruST25 DIGITAL SIGNATURE? This in-house industrialization process ensures die authenticity provided by STMicroelectronics to help fight counterfeiting.
WHAT IS ENERGY HARVESTING? When an electromagnetic field is detected, the chip transforms the inducted energy into an electrical current to supply the tag IC and the MCU.
WHAT IS FAST TRANSFER MODE (FTM)? Using a dedicated 256-byte mailbox buffer, the FTM allows fast exchanges between RF and I2C domains, accessible from both.
WHAT IS GPO? A general-purpose output delivers configurable interrupt capabilities with multiple drive options.
WHAT IS PWM OUTPUT? Standing for Pulse Width Modulation, it generates variable duty cycles for system control. Commonly used in lightning and power-supply applications...
