Point of Sale (POS) terminals enable secure payment transactions by reading information on debit or credit cards – using either one of the established standards including ISO/IEC 7816 serial, ISO/IEC 14443 contactless and magnetic stripe readout – and then connecting to the bank’s servers to register the transaction.

Portable ePOS terminals require wireless connectivity – most often Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi or cellular to connect to a base or to the bank. 

ePOS terminals are subject to EMVCo Level 1 and 2, Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), and when relevant, People's Bank of China (PBOC), certification for the transaction aspects as well as other regulations including the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).

We have solutions for contactless card transactions centered on our ST25R NFC reader providing high sensitivity and antenna adaptation - which can significantly help reduce certification efforts – and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. In addition, we provide power management solutions including Qi-compliant wireless charging chipsets.
