This second generation of STM32 application processors opens the door to higher performances with a 64-bit platform now, specifically designed for industrial applications requiring chip robustness in a connected and secure environment.
- The STM32MP2 microprocessor portfolio comes in two main configurations:
- The STM32MP25x product line supports the growth of connected applications with extended connectivity: Ethernet switch, TSN support, PCIe, USB3, LVDS, DSI, and parallel as display interfaces. It also offers camera interfaces (CSI, parallel), with image signal processor (ISP).
- The STM32MP23x product line, a cost-optimized derivative of STM32MP25x, offers up to 1.5 GHz & (LP)DDR4, enhancing performance compared to the previous generation product (STM32MP15) with AI, graphics, and video accelerators.
This product offers advanced edge AI capabilities with its NPU accelerator and the flexibility to run AI applications on either the CPU, GPU, or NPU. Additionally, it supports high-end edge computing use cases, such as machine vision, through its multimedia capabilities. This is enabled by the whole ST edge AI ecosystem offer.
It supports a wide junction temperature range, from - 40°C to 125°C, making it ideal for industrial and harsh environments.

Product types
The STM32MP2 series is available in seven different lines, which are pin-to-pin compatible. Each line features a security option (cryptography and secure boot with TrustZone®). The STM32MP2 product lines feature up to dual Arm Cortex®-A35 cores operating at up to 1.5 GHz, along with an Arm Cortex®-M33 core at 400 MHz.
The STM32MP2 lines come in four packages: TFBGA 436 (18x18 mm), TFBGA 361 (16x16 mm), VFBGA 424 (14x14 mm), and VFBGA 361 (10x10 mm).

The Arm Cortex®-M33 operates at up to 400 MHz, and can serve as the bootable trusted domain, securing the system, isolating critical resources, and managing Cortex®-A35 startup and resets. The Arm Cortex®-M0+ on STM32MP25x runs up to 200 MHz or slows to 16 MHz for minimal power use, leveraging its SmartRun domain to enable low-power peripheral activity while other cores are stopped.
