Shavers, trimmers and epilators are personal care products that need to offer users a comfortable and accurate hair removal experience as well as long battery life. This means highly accurate and efficient motor control and great power management. It also means using sensors and wireless connectivity to improve the user experience with the next generation of smart shavers and trimmers.

ST’s offering provides a broad portfolio of solutions that enable designers to create innovative grooming products integrating advanced features. A key product family is our fully integrated STSPIN motor drivers capable of driving all kinds of portable motors with a very level of positioning accuracy, very low power consumption and full motor protection.  Other key products include high accuracy and low power motion sensors including embedded event detection features, sensor fusion and software tools that allow to build proprietary algorithms, power management and battery management devices to provide the power sources to remote sensing circuities, low power microcontrollers, and ultra-low power Bluetooth low energy system-on-chip for seamless communication with smartphones.
